Drumchapel
NS514723 Image Wanted!
Sent in by Andy Preece (19/10/2007)

'There is a ford at Drumchapel on a track to Hardgate (Clydebank). Just beyond the top of Monymusk Place there is a triangular track junction with Cleddans Road, and on the western side there is a shallow ford, which is used by most vehicles passing that way. There are pipes below the northern side of the junction but this doesn't see much use since the eastern spur from the junction is a dead end for vehicles and becomes a rough path.'

Forth
NS951532 (2*) Suitable for All
Sent in by John Page (28/06/2003)

'On a minor road just outside the village of Forth, Concrete ford but cobbled on top!, No depth gauge but near and far signs, brightly coloured footbridge, 1 foot drop down to water on downstream side. Had just 1 inch of water going over it and unlikely to have more then about 6 inches at any time.'

Garvald
NT093492 (2*) Off-Roaders Only!
Sent in by John Page (28/06/2003)

'A Shallow ford at the far end of a rough track, unusual construction bottom is a thin layer of sand over concrete which seems to be part of a larger structure which is neither a weir nor a dam. The concrete to the side has 6 inch long, 3 inch high metal hoops set in it. Ford was perfectly passable at about 4 inches deep, probably a lot more in winter. Access is via a rough track which whilst not muddy needs more than average ground clearance. Fine for a small 4x4 like ours. After the ford you can either turn or continue but vehicular rights are very doubtful for the next 1/4 mile or so.'

Hole
NS579534 (1*) Irish Bridge
Sent in by John Page (26/11/2003)

'8 feet long Irish bridge but very narrow however with a good rainfall can go under 24 inches of water - this is near us so we keep trying to see how deep we can ford it, problem is its very narrow and fast flowing.'

New Trows
NS812379 (3*) Off-Roaders Only!
Sent in by Andrew JD Smith (20/10/2005)

'This is a deep, rough ford with a footbridge alongside. The unmade track is not clearly defined to the west.'
