'All of these are on the same watercourse:
Spring Lane (SZ488882). This has a 'ford closed' sign on it. It is too deep for normal cars anyway, with a silty bed. I have even seen fish in it!'
'Castle Street (SZ486881). This has a 6'6" width restriction. Due to
flooding a few years ago, it has recently been improved. It now has a smooth gravel bed. Note that you travel along rather than across the river. Suitable for 2wd cars. Partly dry in Summer and only a few inches deep this Winter. Only hazard is the ducks!'
'Clatterford Shute (SZ482876). Only a few inches deep with concrete base.'
'Froglands Lane (SZ483875). The best one. Sand and gravel bed which is 4" lower than the concrete ramps, feels worrying as rear wheels drop off. About a foot deep in Summer, probably best left to 4x4s in Winter.'
