'The best ford in the area is Nant Mill, Coedpoeth. Only a couple of car lengths but a steep downhill approach on a narrow lane from the west, coupled with a deepish plunge into what can be a fast flowing stream, make it daunting, especially in the wee small hours which is when LE JOG competitors tackle it - the final sting in the tail of the notorious Welsh night leg.'

'This is a medieval track that has become narrow through lack of use and is now mainly used as a bridleway. It is not suitable for vehicles unless high wheelbase 4X4. There is a steel footbridge, for pedestrians, at the side.'

'The more northerly of these babies is at least a genuine watersplash (Image 1) where as the one 250yds to the south is a part-timer (Image 2). Both have stone footbridges. No signs.'

Half a mile upstream from Nant Mill and this wider, slightly less nasty ford is encountered. Although this road appears white on the map, it is good asphalt throughout.
